Stuart CABLE – R.I.P.

E’ stato ritrovato morto nella sua casa nel sud del Galles Stuart Cable, batterista degli Stereophonics fino al 2003, attualmente impegnato il sabato alla BBC Radio Wales. La polizia, intervenuta a Llwydcoed vicino Aberdare (Cynon Valley), ancora deve chiarire le cause della morte (“Cause of death has not yet been established, however, there are no suspicious circumstances at this stage.”). 40 anni, aveva formato gli Stereohpnics nel 1992 assieme a Kelly e Richard Jones più giovani di lui di quattro anni. Dopo lo split con la band madre aveva messo in piedi i Killing For Company.

Mike Peters degli Alarm: “He was supposed to be joining us for Rhondda Rocks. I will remember him as someone who was so alive – I can’t believe he’s gone. I don’t know what the circumstances are but it’s a real tragedy. He was always smiling and laughing and great to be around. He had lots of energy and couldn’t wait for the next day to come around. He was a larger than life character who seemed to be a driving force behind the personality of the Stereophonics”.

Cerys Matthews: “He was always such generous company and will be missed terribly. My love goes to his family.”

Iwan Griffiths (The Automatic): “He was one of the few really genuine people you meet in the music industry when he said he’d come down to a gig he would, and be one of the most enthusiastic people there, which to a bunch of 18-year-olds meant the world.”
