John WALKER – R.I.P.

E’ morto all’età di 67 anni nella sua casa di Los Angeles John Walker (John Maus), uno dei fondatori dei magnifici Walker Brothers che porterà al successo a cavallo degli anni ’60-’70 grazie a classici come ‘Make It Easy On Yourself’ e ‘The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine (Any More)’. L’artista era da tempo malato di cancro. “Sadly John passed away yesterday morning Californian time, after a six-month battle with liver cancer”. I Walker Brothers si formarono ad inizio anni ’60 con Scott Engel e Gary Leeds decidendo di adottare tutti lo stesso cognome nel 1964. “He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend, and artiste. Aa very sad day. John was the founder member of the group and lead singer in the early days. He was also a fantastic guitarist which a lot of people didn’t realise. He was a compassionate songwriter and a gentleman with lots of style. The three of us had the most incredible adventure together, all the time not realising that we were part of pop history in the making. His music will live on, and therefore so will John.”
