Romanthony – R.I.P.

686

Sarebbe morto lo scorso 7 maggio nella sua casa di Austin per cause ancora da accertare. Scompare Anthony Moore AKA Romanthony, autentico pioniere dell’house music, (s)conosciuto a grandi e piccini per aver prestato la voce in due brani dei Daft Punk (‘One More Time’ e ‘Too Long’) e per alcuni singoli (ormai classici) come ‘The Wanderer’, ‘Hold On’ e ‘Let Me Show You Love’. Nel 2001 Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo raccontava: “We met him at the 1996 Winter Music Conference and became friends. What’s odd is that Romanthony and Todd Edwards are not big in the United States at all. Their music had a big effect on us. The sound of their productions the compression, the sound of the kick drum and Romanthony’s voice, the emotion and soul is part of how we sound today. Because they mean something to us, it was much more important for us to work with them than with other big stars”. La conferma dela morte è stata data il 9 maggio dalla sorella Mellony Moore. Ecco come lo ricordano alcuni illustri colleghi:
