We’re taking some time out whilst people are doing some other stuff, doing their own things, and the plan is to get back together again [at the] end of the summer. Are on a nine-month break until September when they will start work on their ninth album”.

Greenwood in una nuova intervista rilasciata a Drowned In Sound precisa i piani dei Radiohead: “It’s all up in the air at the minute. Thom’s just come back from touring Atoms For Peace and he’s having some quiet time. I’m sorry to be vague but we’re all just taking it easy at the moment. Just enjoying being at home and hanging out really. I wish I could say we were going to start work and put something out then spend 12 months on the road touring but we’re just enjoying being at home right now. We had the best time when spent the last two years touring The King Of Limbs. We all really enjoyed that. It was a really positive time. We definitely want to do it all again but we’ve just got to give it some time for the dust to settle. What I’m trying to say is everyone’s very happy and positive and looking forward to the next adventure”.

Well we’re meeting up at the end of the summer, and we’ll make a plan. But, you know, we’re a slow-moving animal, always have been. I guess we’ll decide then what we do next”. Per quel che riguarda i progetti personali ha aggiunto: “I’m going to keep playing concerts with the London Cntemporary Orchestra. It’s a bit exclusive obviously, because you’re sort of insisting that people have to be there. There’s a snobbery to that, which is a shame, but yeah, it’s funny, I’ve just stopped trusting microphones and speakers, and I don’t think it puts the orchestra in your room…”.

luglio 2014 – Questa volta è Jonny Greenwood a confermare ai microfoni di BBC 6 Music la partenza dei lavori per il nuovo album: “We’re going to start up in September. Playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it’s sounding”.

settembre 2014 – Attraverso l’applicazione PolyFauna i Radiohead rendono disponibile musica e visuals inediti.

23 settembre – I Radiohead in studio. Thom Yorke scrive – “Stanley & me going thru15years of discarded words & pictures..!while overdubs happen in Radiohead studio.2nd day only” – twitta, allega foto misteriose, varie ed eventuali.

Jonny Greenwood twitta precisando però che non ci sarà un brano dei Radiohead nella soundtrack: “except it’s really a half idea we never made work live. I rewrote it and got supergrass to play it. It’s good, but not very rh!”. E aggiunge: “yes, on one track. And in fact only 2/3 supergrass, so even that correction wasn’t correct”.

“I’m late, they’ve all gone there now, playing and recording, we don’t know what sonic direction the album may take. I always feel as when we start up like we still don’t know really how to do it, and we don’t know quite what to do. ‘Looking down avenues’ is a very kind way of putting the kind of fumbling that we do, mainly because every time we try and do it like the last time because that worked, it never seems to work. So we talk about different approaches and we’re currently trying a bunch out”.

4 febbraio 2015Philip Selway intervistato da Drowned In Sound racconta: “It’s all coming along nicely, thank you! We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas, and now we’re just taking some time away for other projects. We’ll get back to it in March and we’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we’ve been excited about what we’ve been doing so far. It’s by no means finished yet, so we’ve got a way to go. It’s been a productive time though”.

We’ve done a couple of months of recording, and it has gone really well. But we left it at a good place when we last stopped. We’ve certainly changed our method again. It’s too involved to explain how. We’re kind of limiting ourselves; working in limits. So we’ll see what happens. It’s like we’re trying to use very old and very new technology together to see what happens”.

5 settembre Philip Selway aggiunge qualcosa alla causa: “We’ve got quite a busy autumn coming up. We want to finish a record and that’s where we’re at. We’re just launching ourselves into it. For so long we kind of played exclusively with each other and that takes you so far, so I suppose from album to album you try to push yourself beyond your comfort zone”.

6 settembre – Il compositore Robert Ziegler (già al alvoro suThe King of Limbs’) posta via Twitter le prime foto in studio. Ci sono Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien e Nigel Godrich… oltre ad una nutrita orchestra.

15 ottobre – Importante aggiornamento da Jonny Greenwood che a Silver Radio (siamo in Russia) rivela: “We have finished recording of the new album but we keep reevaluating the work we’ve done. We hope we’ll get it right soon, and after that we’ll start planning the next year’s tour”. IT ain’t finished take responsibility for your writing and check your facts occasionally .. alright Jonny?”.

“It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much”.

Stanley Donwood – assiduo collaboratore dei Radiohead – dichiara: “the new album is a work of art”.

At an industry event in London last night Brian Message was asked about new Radiohead music. Quotes attributed to him and taken from his talk have subsequently appeared, describing him as Radiohead’s manager. Brian Message is not Radiohead’s manager – he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night’s event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead’s management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group. Radiohead are managed by Chris Hufford and Bryce Edge at Courtyard Management.

THE SONG OF SIXPENCE THAT GOES – BURN THE WITCH – WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE”.
