Queens Of The Stone Age: Desert Sessions

Just one month ago I was making a record with Queens of the Stone Age and Dave Grohl was also taking part and he decided to have a big barbecue. So there was this interesting gathering. So, we spent one hour telling stories, great stories remembering these lovely guys”. Dunque Desert Sessions o QOTSA? Gibbons aggiunge che si tratta dei Queens of the Stone Age: “I was talking with Josh just yesterday, and I was very excited. We had gone to the desert to work on just a couple of tracks, and I was outside, and Josh came out of the studio, and he had this box, and it was making some strange noise, and I said, ‘hey, what is that’, and he goes; ‘I dont know, I just found it’; I said; ‘Don’t touch a thing; were going to use it for the song!’ So that’s how it started. The work is completed. I think that he said he wants to put it out Halloween. It’ll be good”. Due mesi dopo (siamo ad agosto) Dave Grohl puntualizza al NME: “You know, I never fucking mentioned that I’m on the new Queens record. I’m not on the new Queens record… You know what Josh and I have been doing together? Riding motorcycles and eating waffles. That’s it. Let me tell you, it’s a fun morning. We’ve done it more than a few times and it’s pretty fucking great”.

UPDATE > Come volevasi dimostrare i nuovi volumi 11 e 12 delle Desert Sessions (otto brani in totale) saranno pubblicati a ottobre via Matador Records. Le sessioni sono state registrate lo scorso anno al Joshua Tree Ranch e vedono come ospiti: Les Claypool, Billy Gibbons, Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) e Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint).
