Johnny Marr & Andy Rourke: insieme!

When I was 15 and formed one of the first bands with my best friend, he was at that time one of the best musicians I’d ever heard. We were just kids. Then, in 1982, I formed a band in Manchester, and I asked my best friend to come play the bass with me and he’s still one of the best musicians I’d ever heard. And tonight, 30 years later, I’m going to invite one of my best friends in the world and he’s still one of the best musicians I’ve ever heard. From the Smiths, Mr. Andy Rourke on the bass.” I due hanno dato vita poi ad una versione eccezionale del classico smithsiano ‘How Soon Is Now?’ [GUARDA]. Il giorno dopo Marr lo ha quindi ringraziato via Twitter: “Big thanks and love to @AndyRourke64 for playing with me at the Brooklyn show tonight. C-O-O-L.”
