Gavin Clark – RIP

1795

“Gavin Clark tragically passed away last night. Until a full statement is released, we ask the press to respect the family’s request for privacy at this time, so that they can grieve in peace”. Commovente il messaggio di James Lavelle (UNKLE): “It is with great sadness and shock to hear today of the tragic and unexpected passing of friend and collaborator, Gavin Clark. Gavin was a beautiful man, a wonderful friend and father. A man of unimaginable talent, wit and spirituality, and had a voice like no other. One of the greatest and most unique artists I have had the pleasure to work with. He will be deeply missed. My condolences go to his family and friends. May God rest his soul. RIP. Thank you for the amazing journey. Miss you man, see you on the other side”. L’ultimo album di Clark, ‘Beautiful Skeletons’, era uscito nel maggio 2014. Proprio in occasione della pubblicazione del disco Meadows scriveva: “Gavin Clark is the reason I gave up on my band and on any hopes of a career in music when I was 17 years of age. I heard him play one day in a friend’s kitchen in Uttoxeter and the second he sang I quit. The songs maybe spread out over 20 years, but they are bound together by their simplicity, their honesty and most of all his voice. It’s peerless and so is Gavin”.
