Un tumore inoperabile al colon. Questa la triste diagnosi che aveva colpito Dave Rosser sul finire del 2016. Tante le iniziative che avevano supportato il musicista che scompare a 50 anni vinto dal terribile male. L’annuncio viene dato dall’amico e collaboratore Rick G. Nelson. Rosser oltre che con gli Afghan Whigs aveva collabrato anche con Twilight Singers, Mark Lanegan, Ani Difranco, Joseph Arthur e Marc Broussard.
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend, brother and inspiration. Dave Rosser passed away peacefully last evening surrounded by love. Thank you to all who kept him in their hearts. He is forever in ours.
I My Jerusalem scrivono:
There are no words to express how much I love you David Rosser. I had the honor of playing music and living with you in multiple bands. I started My Jerusalem as a result of your encouragement. We recorded the whole first album over so many unforgettable days and nights in your apartment together. You, me, Rick, and Cully. Some of my best memories. It sparked a fire I feared I had lost. Having you as a friend is and will be one of the finest accomplishments of my entire life. You are truly a rare treasure. I will carry you with me everywhere I go. Love you infinitely and eternally.
Til we meet again.
