Sul fronte dei contrari si erano espressi David Byrne (“As an outsider, my sense would be that by raising the issue again, Scotland can get a bit more autonomy and self-control, but complete independence might be a bit much to handle”), Bob Geldof (“I’d just like to tell everybody in Scotland we’re all f**king fed up with Westminster and it’s even more frustrating for us because we don’t even get to do the argument that you’ve begun. This argument needs to be had among us all, you can%u2019t selfishly resolve it amongst yourselves by taking an easy opt-out clause”), Susan Boyle (“I am a proud, patriotic Scot, passionate about my heritage and my country. But I am not a nationalist”), David Bowie (“Scotland, stay with us”).

Mentre erano rimasti nel limbo dell’indecisione Annie Lennox (“From my perspective, I think the issue is complexand there is certainly a strong element of risk. Personally, I’m neither a gambler nor soothsayer and my view doesn’t count in any case”), Stuart Murdoch (“Would we be better off? Frankly, I don’t care. I hate that question. You might be down or up a few quid at the end of the year, but is that worth getting passionate about? I feel like I’m ready to fall in with whatever the country wants to do, but when a body of people votes overwhelmingly against the people who make the laws and spend the taxes, something’s got to give”), Nina Nesbitt (“Overall, I think there’s good and bad parts to both sides and, generally, I haven’t made a decision yet because there are so many factors that come into it”).

Sul fronte del SI si erano espressi anche Morrissey (“They must cut ties with the United King-dumb. I love Scotland, and I love the Scottish spirit and they do not need Westminster in the least“), Bjork (“s c o t l a n d ! s c o t l a n d ! s c o t l a n d ! declare independence! don’t let them do that to you! declare independence!”), Alan McGee (“Scotland should have more powers. It should be much more like Ireland and a celtic haven for artists. We should be making it easier for people to exist, with tax breaks not just for musicians to live in their home country but artists like Jim Lambie, who shouldn’t have to live in New York”), Rab Allan dei Glasvegas (“We are an intelligent country full of character and determination with wealthy natural resources and are more than capable of shaping our own future. The future that we want, not the future someone else decides we deserve“).

Tra le reazioni del giorno dopo invece ne abbiamo selezionate alcune.

Billy BraggReferendum result: a new constitutional settlement for UK. Big thank you to people of Scotland for putting devo for England on the agenda.

Alex KapranosIt feels incredible to be standing here on the edge if this stage tonight on the edge of history. I’m not the kind of guy that’s used to making any sort of speech. I’m a man of few words, tonight I’m a man of one word and that word is ‘Yes’.

Matt BellamyWhat an exhilarating #referendum The more #directdemocracy the better, just for the sheer fuckoffness of it.

Aidan Moffat45% with virtually no media support. Well played.

ErrorsIndependent state of glasgow

Frightened RabbitWe could have changed our future and we decided that wasn’t for us. I can’t possibly say I support the outcome of this referendum. Grant x

David Mclean (Django Django) – I’m not suggesting that creating an independent Scotland will be an easy ride. We may well end up with the same old self-serving cronies. But for me running our own country is a no brainier and a step in the right direction.

Geri HalliwellThank you Scotland – together we are Great Britain. X

Edwyn Collins It’s No. Fair enough – Edwyn.

Stuart BraithwaiteGlasgow a rare plus point in a sore night. So proud of the Yes campaign. Well done all. Hope > Eat your cereal. #indyref that’s all from me.

Eddi ReaderI think a lot of generous scots have swallowed the lie that ref was about a ‘break up’..conned .should have had the deal clearly explained.
