Un’altra vittima del COVID-19 nel mondo della musica. Dopo Manu Dibango, Wallace Roney, Adam Miller, Joe Diffie, Cristina Monet-Palaci… viene colpito anche a 52 anni Adam Lyons Schlesinger. Stimato e apprezzatissimo compositore, cantautore e fondatore di Ivy, Fountains Of Wayne e Tinted Windows (il supergruppo autore di un solo album omonimo nel 2009, formato con James Iha, Bun E. Carlos e Taylor Hanson). Schlesinger era nato a New York nel 1967, nel 1994 forma il trio degli Ivy (sei album tra il 1995 e il 2011), quindi nel 1995 è alla guida dei FOW (cinque i lavori tra il 1996 e il 2011) con il picco probabilmente raggiunto dal secondo ‘Utopia Parkway’. Parallelamente il compianto artista americano si cimenta come autore di colonne sonore di film e serie televisive, ottenendo ben presto una nomination agli Oscar per il film di Tom Hanks “Music Graffiti” e poi firma musiche per ‘About Mary’, ‘Me Myself & Irene’, ‘Scary Movie’, ‘Sesame Street’, ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ ma la lista è davvero sterminata. Non da meno l’attività come produttore che vanta lavori anche con Tahiti 80, Dashboard Confessional, The Monkees, They Might Be Giants e Robert Plant. Nel “palmares” ci sono tre Emmys, un ASCAP Pop Music Award e un Grammy.
